From Broadway to York (and beyond)- a NYC food blog

In New York City, there are approximately 25,000 restaurants, representing 150 different countries’ cuisines. Many of these restaurants are critically acclaimed, recognized by the Michelin Guide or by other prestigious bodies, and many are just starting out. Many are corporate franchises with over 30,000 locations worldwide, and many are small “hole-in-the-wall” businesses that have remained in the same family for a generation.

I have a deep love of food across various cultures, and I am proud to be from a place where I can meet new people and explore so many different cultures through food. Whether your preferred dinner is at a local pizzeria, a small Indian restaurant in Staten Island, the new KBBQ on Northern Boulevard, the hotdog cart outside of Central Park, at Le Bernardin or at the Times Square Olive Garden, the ability to make that decision on any given night is what makes our city so special.

The purpose of this blog is to document and share some of the amazing food that our city has to offer.

About Me

My name is Brandon, and I am a lifelong New Yorker, pizza enthusiast, and amateur food blogger. I’ve lived and worked in Brooklyn and Staten Island, and I now work in Manhattan.

I ran the 2022 NYC Marathon (up until the 22nd mile- before I hobbled the remaining 4.2 miles to Central Park). I am a lifelong (and long-suffering) NY Mets fan, and my favorite NY pizza is from Denino’s in Staten Island. I am a proud graduate of The SUNY Downstate School of Nursing, and I currently work as a Nurse Practitioner, though I have worked as a Registered Nurse at various Emergency Departments throughout the city. My overall favorite dish is shakshuka, though I will never turn down a New York slice of pizza.
